Tyto Alba Means 'Wise Owl'
Our cottage was built in the 1920's and it still has the lovely old-fashioned warmth of that era, and the walls are quite sound-proof to the out-side world. The high ceilings give a feeling of open-space even though the cottage has only five rooms. The open fireplace is a wonderful experience in winter and the wood box is always full so it is also a winter holiday as well. The back yard is shaded in the hot summer afternoons so a glass of our famous McLaren Vale wine is an experience to look forward to along with the barbeque for that real Australian tradition.
The jetty which is 50 metres away has a natural reef for snorkeling swimming and diving. The Port Noarlunga under water trail is one-of-a-kind with cement blocks that guide divers along the underwater trail which follows the off-shore reef. Canoeing on the Onkaparinga River to Old Noarlunga is quite a lovely experience along with the walking trails through Port Noarlunga town-ship.
Port Noarlunga is a multicultural food heaven with a unique blend of cafes and restaurants and a friendly family pub.
The bathroom has the old fashioned shower over the claw-foot bath, which is a wonderful thing at the end of an exciting day.
